The US Department of Energy’s Federal Energy Management Program (FEMP) is responsible for implementing a few sections of the Energy Policy Act of 2005 related to Federal building energy efficiency. These include Section 102 – Energy Management Requirements, Section 103 – Energy Use Measurement and Accountability, Section 104 – Procurement of Energy Efficient Products, and Section 109 – Federal Building Performance Standards. Each of these sections will be examined with regards to the requirements and how FEMP is implementing those requirements to help agencies improve energy efficiency and sustainability.
