David Japikse, CHR Member

David Japikse is Chairman and CEO of Concepts NREC and Adjunct Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Vermont. He is a member of the National Academy of Engineering, a member of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, and a fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. Dr. Japikse’s degrees are in Mechanical Engineering, having received a B.S. from Case Institute of Technology in 1965 and a M.S. and Ph.D. from Purdue University in 1967 and 1969 respectively. Dr. Japikse has been recognized for his achievements in designs of advanced turbomachinery and his pioneering research in the field. He has published four major textbooks on global industrial turbomachinery, edited several reference books, and is co-editor of Sawyer’s Gas Turbine Engineering Handbook.
