Biennial Meeting, April 4–6, 2007
Sri Lanka
For the first time in the Network’s 14-year history, its biennial meeting will be held in a developing country. On April 4-6, 2007, the National Academy of Sciences of Sri Lanka will host this event in a peaceful and safe location, a beach hotel at the southern edge of Colombo. This will give participants an opportunity not only to meet each other informally between and after sessions, but also to visit many beautiful places in the country of historical and geographical interest and, if they wish, to get a first-hand feel for the problems that exist there. The location of the biennial meeting reflects the Network’s desire to reach out to and better understand the circumstances affecting academies and its colleagues in developing countries.
