Welcome to the Mathematical Sciences Education Board!

The Mathematical Sciences Education Board (MSEB), located within the National Research Council's Center for Education (CFE), current mission is to provide national leadership and guidance for policies, programs, and practices supporting the improvement of mathematics education at all levels and for all members of our society. We are actively pursuing several initiatives that focus on the learning, instruction, and assessment of mathematics; equity in mathematics; attracting and retaining students in mathematics majors and in mathematically intensive careers; capacity building and professionalization of mathematics education; evidence of effectiveness in mathematics education; and the public perception of mathematics, mathematics learning, and mathematics teaching.

MSEB findings and recommendations are usually issued in the form of reports and other publications, most of which are available in print and electronically via this site.
