Anna Held Audette
Manufactured Landscapes

JPG Image

Since the fifteenth century, artists in the Western world have depicted ruins, perhaps most famously the remains of classical antiquity.

Following in the footsteps of such artists, Anna Held Audette paints ruins of our recent industrial past.

With an attention to beauty and a style that often hovers between abstraction and realism, Audette renders her subjects with respect and encourages reflection on the nature of memory and change.
