On March 18th at 3:00 p.m. the National Academy of Sciences Office of Exhibitions and Cultural Programs will present a concert by the renowned American String Quartet. The distinguished ensemble will replace the previously scheduled Borealis String Quartet, unfortunately unable to perform.
Internationally recognized as one of the world's finest quartets, The American String Quartet has performed in all fifty states in three decades of touring. The quartet has appeared in virtually every important concert hall throughout the world, and this performance will mark its first return to the National Academy of Sciences since its acclaimed performance in 2002.
The program will include the Haydn Quartet in E-flat Major, Op. 76, No. 6, the Alban Berg Quartet No. 3, and the Beethoven Quartet in E Minor, Op. 59, No. 2.
