Mr. A. Dwight Abbott is General Manager, Systems Engineering Division for the Aerospace Corporation (retired). Previous assignments at the Aerospace Corporation included general manager of business management for space technology applications, principal director of the design engineering subdivision of the engineering group, and principal director of space transportation development for space launch operations. Prior to joining the Aerospace Corporation in 1960, Mr. Abbott earned a B.S. in aeronautical engineering from Purdue University. Mr. Abbott also holds an M.S. in industrial engineering from the Krannert Graduate School at Purdue University, where he currently serves on the Dean’s Visiting Committee for the Schools of Engineering. Mr. Abbott is an associate fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, serving on its Public Policy Committee. He also is a member of the American Association for Advancement of Science and the Planetary Society.
