Robert A. Davis joined Boeing in 1958. He recently retired as the Corporate Vice President of Engineering and Technology at the Boeing Company. He was responsible for overseeing, coordinating and developing engineering and technology programs, which included product development, throughout Boeing. Formerly he served as Vice President of Engineering and Product Development for the Boeing Commercial Airplane Group where he was responsible for all BCAG engineering activities, flight test engineering and operations and government technical liaisons. He previously held the position as Director of Engineering for the Group's Everett Division, where the 767 and 757 aircraft are produced. Other positions held within Boeing were chief technology engineer for the 757 program and chief engineer of Structures in the Renton Division, where the 737 and 757 are produced. He has worked on various assignments with the 737, 727, and supersonic transport programs. His early years of Boeing were spent in structures and materials for the 707 and KC-135 programs. He is a fellow of the American Institute for Aeronautics and Astronautics and also The Royal Aeronautical Society.
