Committee on Field Evaluation of Behavioral and Cognitive Sciences-Based Methods and Tools for Intelligence and Counterintelligence
Project Objectives
|
The Board on Behavioral, Cognitive, and Sensory Sciences, under the auspices of The National Research Council, assembled an ad hoc committee to plan and hold a workshop focused on reviewing basic behavioral and social science research and its application to intelligence and counterintelligence. The workshop will focus specifically on suggestions for effective field evaluation for the transition of behavioral and social science research-based methods and tools to intelligence and counterintelligence field operations. The work of cognitive scientists, social and other experimental psychologists, applied researchers, human-systems integration scientists, education and health researchers, and philosophers of science will provide a basis of understanding of the issues. The workshop will include presentation and discussion of a series of commissioned papers, and other materials. The discussion and major themes that emerge from the workshop will be synthesized into a workshop report. The workshop is scheduled for September 22-23, 2009 in the Keck Building.
