Arnold and Mabel Beckman Center of the
National Academies of Sciences and Engineering

This first class meeting facility is home to several significant programs such as the Distinctive Voices Series, the Arthur M. Sackler Colloquia, the Kavli-Frontiers of Science and the Beckman Scholars Symposium. The award winning conference center is sited on seven acres bordering the cities of Irvine and Newport Beach. The Center provides a private, distraction-free environment for your meeting, yet it is only minutes away from outstanding accommodations, restaurants, beaches and tourist attractions. Unique to Orange County and designed specifically for meetings, the retreat-like atmosphere of this 48,000 square foot facility is highly conducive to learning and productivity. Private working offices with computers complement a variety of conference rooms. To take advantage of the Southern California climate, each conference suite opens to a private patio or balcony.

The Center is equipped with a wide variety of state of the art technology and our on-site staff will coordinate all your audio-visual and computer needs. Two business centers provide copy machines, fax machines, computers, printers, office supplies and shipping materials. Conference dining and continuous break service is served in a relaxed California atmosphere, with weekly barbeques our specialty. More formal events can be arranged in a variety of areas throughout the Center. Our conference coordinators, chefs, and staff are always ready to assist you. Partnerships with several near-by hotels make it easy and convenient to arrange accommodations.

The administrative staff of the Center maintains the daily operation of the facility. They will be available to coordinate logistical support for your conference, including room set-up, audio-visual and computer assistance, postal services, and assistance in coordination and movement of supplies and special equipment requests. The staff will also be available to provide general information on the Orange County area, to assist participants with travel, restaurant and lodging inquiries, and other special requirements as requested. A variety of special services can be arranged for you through the Beckman Center staff including transportation, transcribing, translation, secretarial and clerical services.
