As part of its celebration of the International Year of Planet Earth, on Thursday, September 25, BISO is sponsoring a symposium that will explore the relationships between earth sciences and public health. Symposium speakers will examine the interrelationship of health issues and geological systems, as well as the integration of scientific research, particularly risk assessments, into policy strategies. 2009 IUPAC Young Observers
The International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC) will hold its 45th General Assembly and 42nd Congress in Glasgow, Scotland, UK, in August 2009. The USNC/IUPAC will be providing travel grants of up to $2,500 to outstanding U.S. scientists and engineers as part of the 2009 Young Observer Program.
