Dr. Braverman’s research focuses on data reduction techniques for massive data sets. These methods are based on statistical clustering and signal processing algorithms modified for use in data analytic settings. At JPL Dr. Braverman serves on project teams for the Atmospheric Infrared Sounder (AIRS) and the Multi-angle Imaging SpectroRadiometer (MISR). She is responsible for the design of data reduction algorithms. She is also involved in active research collaborations with JPL’s Machine Learning Group to develop data mining techniques and tools for EOS data. Dr. Braverman has published in both statistics and geoscience journals, is active in the American Statistical Association, the American Geophysical Union, and is an officer of the Interface Foundation of North America.
