Carol J. Stender-Larkin
Field Director, Submission Processing (Andover)
In October 1999, Carol was sworn in as the Field Director of the Submission Processing Center at the Andover IRS Campus. In this position, Carol is responsible for the processing of over 8 million federal paper tax returns, 11.5 million electronic returns, $3.5 billion in tax deposits, and 16.9 million pieces of mail. Carol was appointed Assistant to the Director of the Andover Service Center in July 1995 following completion of the Executive Development Program. Subsequently, she was appointed Assistant Director in February 1996.
She began her IRS career as a work-study Revenue Agent in Portland, Oregon. The majority of Carol’s experience has been in the Examination function at the district and regional levels. Throughout her career, spanning more than 30 years, Carol has worked in many locations including Oregon, California, Ohio, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts. Carol holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon and is a licensed CPA in Oregon and California. Carol serves as a board member on the Boston Federal Executive Board and the Bentley College, Department of Financial Planning and Taxation Advisory Board. Carol has received three IRS Commissioner Awards and the Greater Boston Federal Executive Board Excellence in Government Distinguished Federal Executive Award.
Carol and her husband, John, are the proud parents of an eight -year old son.
