Kim Lee is the science curriculum supervisor for Montgomery County Public Schools in Christiansburg, Virginia. As a supervisor, Kim has worked to facilitate collaborative work between teachers, local colleges and universities, and informal educators. She often collaborates with teachers to develop grant projects that support and elevate science instruction. Her latest goal is to facilitate further integration of and fully support the use of hand-held technologies into the laboratory and field. Previously she taught chemistry and biology at Christiansburg High School in Montgomery County and the Roanoke Valley Governor’s School. As a teacher, she worked within the classroom to develop students as researchers within the structure of an elective course. Over the years, her students have participated in the Intel Science Fair program at the Virginia Junior Academy of Sciences. Before teaching, Ms. Lee worked as a laboratory specialist and laboratory manager at the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine at Virginia Polytechnic Institute (VPI). She has a B.S degree in biochemistry from North Carolina State University, a Masters degree in curriculum and instruction from VPI, and will complete an Ed.S. degree in education administration this July.
