Angela Powers is Senior Education Associate for Teacher Training at the American Chemical Society. Before joining the Education Division at ACS, she taught chemistry, physical science and mathematics in Colorado. She received her B.S. in chemistry from the University of Dayton in 1988, a Masters in chemistry from the University of Colorado in 1991, and a Ph.D. in Chemical Education from the University of Northern Colorado in 2000. Powers’ professional interests are in curriculum development and conceptual representations. She served on the writing/revision team for the 4^th edition of the American Chemical Society’s high school textbook Chemistry in the Community and is currently project manager and teacher’s edition editor for the 5^th edition.
