Taking Science to School makes an important contribution to current discussions on how to improve science education. The report brings together findings from research in cognitive and developmental psychology, science education, and the history and philosophy of science to synthesize what is known about how children in grades K through 8 learn the ideas and practices of science. The result is a rare, and long awaited, framework for re-envisioning what it takes to support science learning for all children.

Please join members of the authoring committee and the Board on Science Education at this event. The study’s findings will be detailed and time will be spent in debates and discussions about their implications for science education, science education policy, and research on teaching and learning. We welcome your participation.

Please RSVP your attendance ASAP to Victoria Ward at vward@nas.edu.

Please feel free to appoint a designee should your schedule prevent you from attending.

Facilities are handicap accessible.
