Committee on Technology and Assessment: Thinking Ahead
This workshop is intended as a bridging activity: to expand on the ideas about technology and assessment raised in the recently released NRC report, Knowing What Students, Know, and lay the groundwork for a more in-depth NRC research and development agenda setting activity in this area. BOTA will convene scientists and practitioners working in the intersection of technology and educational assessment for a one-day workshop. The workshop will consist of two parts. A morning panel of presenters and discussants will be aimed at sharing the main messages of Knowing What Students Know with a broad audience and stimulating thinking about its implications for policy and practice. An afternoon panel will focus more specifically on the role of technology for advancing the design of assessments based on modern cognitive and measurement principles.
