Panel I: Conceptual Issues in Assessing College, Career, and Workforce Readiness
Moderator: Laurie Wise
• How should college/career/workforce readiness be defined?
• How should college/career/workforce readiness be measured?
• How do we know that the definitions are correct and the measures are valid?
The discussion will focus on the process and procedures that should be used for developing the definition and the measures of readiness and for verifying that they are correct/valid. Each panelist will talk for about 20 minutes, leaving about 20 minutes for discussion.

Panel II: Implementation Examples
Moderator: Kevin Lang
For each program, the speaker should address:
• How have you approached defining and measuring college/career/workforce readiness?
• What evidence do you have that your definition is correct and that your measures are valid?
Each speaker will make a 15- to 20-minute presentation about the process that they have used to define readiness, identify the skills, and develop measures of the skills. Program should focus on the processes they have used, not on lists of specific skills that they have identified. Each program should also talk about any validity studies they have conducted to verify that they have identified the right skills and measured them in a valid way. The purpose is not to evaluate any particular program’s progress in this area but to consider the general state of the field. The presentations will take about 90 minutes, leaving 30 minutes for discussion
