Research on 21st Century Competencies:
An NRC Planning Process on Behalf of the Hewlett Foundation

The National Research Council convened a planning meeting on February 1, 2010 to inform the Hewlett Foundation about key research literatures related to 21st century competencies. Following the planning meeting, experts wrote literature reviews on the role of 21st century competencies in supporting positive outcomes in the workforce, civic participation, personal fulfillment and educational attainment.  The competencies of interest include: critical thinking, problem solving, communication, collaboration, and adaptive learning/learning to learn.

This activity is supported by the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation.
