Nancy R. Kingsbury
Nancy Kingsbury is managing director for applied research and methods (ARM) at the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO). ARM provides technical and specialist expertise to support and extend the work of other GAO teams. Her former positions with GAO include: acting assistant comptroller general for general government and director for planning and reporting, General Government Division (GGD); director, federal human resources management issues, GGD; director, air force issues, National Security and International Affairs Division (NSIAD); director, foreign economic assistance issues, NSIAD; associate director, defense manpower and logistical issues, NSIAD; and acting associate director, air force issues. She has also held positions with U.S. Civil Service Commission/Office of Personnel Management and served as director of resource management for the Peace Corps. Dr. Kingsbury is a fellow of the National Academy of Public Administration. Her interests include research methods, program evaluation, and technology assessment. She received a B.A. degree summa cum laude with general honors from the University of Miami (Florida) and M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in experimental psychology and analytic methods from the Johns Hopkins University.
