Bridget Coughlin

Bridget Coughlin is Managing Editor at the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS) where her responsibilities include managing the editorial, communications, and recruiting departments; setting and implementing editorial polices and procedures; and participating in short-range and long-range strategic planning. Prior to coming to the journal in 2000, Dr. Coughlin did post doctoral work at Yale University and was a Christine Mirzayan Intern with the National Academy of Sciences. She received her doctorate in biochemistry from the University of Iowa where her research on antigenic and post transcriptional gene regulation was support by the Howard Hughes Medical Institute and as a Burroughs Wellcome Fund predoctoral fellow. Dr. Coughlin has also done research at the Oakridge National Laboratory with a Department of Energy-Martin Marietta training grant
