Charles Hancock is currently Professor and Associate Dean in the College of Education at The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. He has been offering graduate education for the past twenty-five years at several institutions, including Teachers College, Columbia University; the State University of New York at Albany; the University of Maryland, College Park; and The Ohio State University. He has advised more than 100 students at the Master's and doctoral levels, many of whom have been international students from around the world. He has been a public school administrator in two large school districts in Maryland. Dr. Hancock's scholarship & research interests are teacher education, urban education, foreign & second language education, and testing & assessment. He is a lead member of the team from the College of Education for the Carnegie Initiative on the Doctorate (CID) project. The latter is a multi-year self study of the doctoral programs in education at Ohio State designed to examine the role of doctoral programs in the College of Education as stewards of the discipline.
