David Myers

David Myers (Ph.D., Sociology, Washington State University) is a vice president and the director of Human Services Research in Mathematica Policy Research’s Washington, DC office. He is a nationally recognized expert in the evaluation of education policies and programs, and the design and implementation of randomized experiments. Dr. Myers has directed three large random assignment studies in education: the National Evaluation of Upward Bound, the Evaluation of the New York City School Choice Scholarship Program, and an evaluation of remedial reading programs for elementary school students—the Power4Kids Initiative. He also directed the random assignment impact evaluation of the Workplace Literacy program. Dr. Myers has worked on numerous other random assignment evaluations, including PBS’s Ready To Learn program, ED’s 21st Century Community Learning Centers, and Teach for America. Dr. Myers serves on the advisory panel of the ED, Institute of Education Sciences’ What Works Clearinghouse and is a co-convener for the Campbell Collaborations Research Design group.
