The Focus of CORE
The Center for Education has brought together the Committee on Research in Education (CORE) to guide and oversee the design and implementation of a series of workshops. The CORE will build on past-and reinforce current-efforts of the National Research Council (NRC) that relate to the improvement of education research.
The Committee on Research in Education has set three primary objectives for itself:
- Advancing an improved understanding of a "scientific" approach to addressing educational problems;
- Engaging the field of education research in action-oriented dialogue about how to further the accumulation of scientific knowledge; and
- Coordinating with, supporting, and promoting cross-fertilization among NRC efforts in education research.
