Planning Meeting on the Role of State Funding of Research

The Committee on Science, Engineering, and Public Policy (COSEPUP) - a joint committee of the National Academy of Sciences, National Academy of Engineering, and Institute of Medicine - is considering undertaking a project that will examine the issue of state funding of research. The committee will hold an exploratory planning meeting on July 13th 2001 to gather input for the purpose of determining the usefulness of such a project and, if so, the possible questions on which it might focus.
