Board on Behavioral, Cognitive, and Sensory Sciences

Subject/Focus Area: Behavioral & Social Sciences; Policy & Research

Board Officer: Christine Hartel

Project Scope

Because of the growing importance of behavioral, cognitive, and sensory science as a source of knowledge and technology, DBASSE is expanding on its traditional roles of responding to policy questions, reviewing existing knowledge, and setting research agendas. The Board on Behavioral, Cognitive, and Sensory Sciences will help DBASSE take a more proactive role by anticipating new policy issues, problems, and opportunities that may arise from advances in behavioral, cognitive, and sensory science and by identifying areas in which these fields can lead to significant progress on well-recognized policy issues.
Contributions can be made in a wide variety of policy domains, such as education, training, productivity, and performance; health and behavior; aging; information technology; and environment and risk.
