Committee on Educational Interventions for Children with Autism
Publications: Educating Children With Autism (2001)
Through the sponsorship of the United States Department of Education's Office of Special Education Programs, The National Academies established the Committee on Educational Interventions for Children with Autism. The primary focus of the project was early intervention, preschool, and school programs for children with autism from birth to age 8.
As part of its activities, the Committee is conducted two workshops to examine research and practice on Educational Interventions for Children with Autism. The workshops were interdisciplinary, involving researchers, educators, school administrators, specialists in autism, developmental psychologists, and policy experts in a sustained discussion of issues surrounding autism and the education of children with autism.
