The Committee on Techniques for the Enhancement of Human Performance was established in 1985 in response to a request by the Army Research Institute to explore the utility and effectiveness of various techniques to enhance human performance. Five reports were completed. The first three examined and evaluated commercial and proprietary techniques being considered by the Army as well as more established techniques such as team learning, simulation training, and skill practice. In its fourth report, the committee shifted its focus to the enhancement of organizational performance. The fifth and final report addressed the changing nature of work and the implications for occupational analysis. The work of the committee was completed in 1999.
