Counterterrorism Challenges for Russia and the United States
Statement of Task This project calls for establishment of parallel committees of the National Academies and the Russian Academy of Sciences that would organize annual workshops for exchanging information and experiences concerning steps that can be taken by governments to reduce the likelihood of terrorism attacks and reduce the resulting damage should they occur.
The two committees will guide this activity. They will jointly determine the agendas and priorities for the workshops. They will commission papers to be prepared by American and Russian specialists for the workshops on topics of particular interest.
