New Investigators Twinning Program 2005-2006
Administered by the Office for Central Europe and Eurasia of the National Research Council with funding provided by the National Science Foundation, the New Investigators Twinning Program for 2005-2006 supports two-year collaborative research projects linking individual U.S. scientists with their counterparts in Bulgaria, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, or Slovakia. Research in all fields of basic science is eligible for support, with medical and agricultural research being excluded.
The grants awarded under this round of the Twinning Program (which had an application deadline in October 2004) run from January 2005 through December 2006 and provide support for travel and living expenses for research visits by American grantees and colleagues to the countries listed above and for visits by their foreign counterparts to the United States. Grantees also receive modest funding for scientific supplies, telecommunications fees, and publication costs.
A list of the grantees and projects currently supported is available, and updates on achievements are added as interim and final reports are received.
No further Twinning Program competitions are planned at this time.
