Federal Facilities Council Seminar on Chemical and Biological Threats to Buildings

On December 20, 2001, the Federal Facilities Council sponsored a one-half day seminar on Chemical and Biological Threats to Buildings. As a consequence of the events of September 11, 2001 and subsequent attacks with letters containing anthrax spores, and contamination detected at several public buildings, federal employees and the public in general are concerned with the safety of federal buildings. The purpose of this seminar was to provide the federal facilities community with credible, scientific information on the threat posed by chemical and biological agents that might be used in attacks against buildings, discuss technologies that can mitigate the effects of attack, and techniques and procedures for testing and remediating facilities. More than 500 people attended the seminar from the federal government, the private sector and academia.

The seminar agenda, the presentation slides, and speaker biographies follow. Please note that all of the materials are in pdf format and require Adobe Acrobat Reader.
