GIVING SOCIETIES

Giving society members have made significant financial contributions toward the National Academies' endowment or programmatic initiatives. These contributions give the Academies freedom to initiate studies, projects, and publications for which there are pressing needs but no government funding. Through the Giving Societies, the National Academies publicly recognize these important contributions.

LIFETIME GIVING
The Einstein Society (NAS, NAE, IOM, NRC)

Recognizes cumulative lifetime giving of at last $100,000 by members and friends of the National Academies. Each member receives a replica of sculptor Robert Berks’
Einstein Monument located in front of the National Academies Headquarters in Washington, D.C., is recognized on a lifetime plaque at the National Academies’ Members Center, and is acknowledged with lifetime listings in the annual NAS Treasurer’s Report and/or the donor recognition issue of The Bridge.

The Elkan Blout Society (NAS)
The Golden Bridge Society (NAE)
The IOM Society (IOM)

Recognize cumulative lifetime giving of $20,000 - $99,999 by members of the National Academies. Each society member is recognized on a lifetime plaque at the National Academies’ Members Center, and with lifetime listings in the annual NAS Treasurer’s Report and/or the donor recognition issue of The Bridge.

PLANNED GIVING
The Heritage Society

Recognizes members and friends who have
provided for the future of the Academies through life income, bequest, and other estate and planned gifts. Heritage Society members receive a medal that bears the likeness of the historic National Academies Headquarters building and special mailings including Insight, an estate planning and philanthropy newsletter. Most important, members have the satisfaction of knowing that they are helping ensure the future of the Academies and their ability to advise the nation with excellence.

ANNUAL GIVING

The Rosette Society ($5,000 - $9,999)
The Challenge Society ($2,500 - $4,999)
