Michael Clegg, CHR Member

Member Michael CleggMichael T. Clegg is Professor Emeritus of Biological Sciences in the Department of Ecology & Evolutionary Biology at the University of California in Irvine. He is currently Vice President (external) of the Internal Council for Science (ICSU) and Co-Chair of the Inter American Network of Academies of Science (IANAS). Clegg was elected to membership in the US National Academy of Sciences in 1990 and he was elected a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences in 1992.  He was elected Foreign Secretary of the National Academy of Sciences in 2002 and reelected in 2006 and 2010.  He has also served as President of the American Genetic Association (1987), President of the International Society for Molecular Biology & Evolution (2002) and Chair of the Section on Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (2003).
