10:30 am

BREAK

10:45 am

Understanding the Principles of Learning More Deeply: Break-out sessions with
interactive activities, each addressing one of the major principles of learning research (preconceptions, knowledge base, transfer of knowledge among subject domains, metacognition); The sessions will be led by:

Bonnie Brunkhorst, Professor, Geological Science and Science, Mathematics and Technology Education, California State University, San Bernardino

José Mestre, Professor, Department of Physics, University of Massachusetts, Amherst

Michael Martinez, (invited) Professor, Department of Education, University of California, Irvine
