Library Mission

The George E. Brown, Jr. library supports, and is committed to serving the research needs of staff and committee members, adapting resources and methods of information delivery to meet the constantly evolving needs of the organization. Our mission is to develop, implement, and manage the strategy that will allow the organization to maximize, expand, and preserve access to, transfer and use of knowledge assets by providing research, reference, instructional training, document delivery and collection management services.

We invite the public to view our collection by appointment. Our collection consists mainly of the body of work of The National Academies: over a century of endeavors in fields scientific, technological, engineering, and medical. Please see our Visitor's Guide for more information.
