Air Traffic Controller Staffing Needs:
Transportation Research Board Special Report 314

Requested by Congress in P.L. 112-95, this new report from the National Academies assesses the standards used by the Federal Aviation Administration to estimate air traffic controller staffing needs and examines the most cost-effective approach to staffing that ensures safe operation of the national airspace system.

These briefings were for members of Congress and congressional staff only. The report was publicly released on June 13, 2014 and can be found, in its entirety, on the Web site of the National Academies Press.
