A Geospatial Framework for the Coastal Zone: National Needs for Coastal Mapping and Charting
With population growth continuing to surge in America's coastal communities, urban planners, environmental managers, and others are depending on digital data about local geography to make informed decisions. This report examines how that data, which is collected by at least seven federal agencies and multiple state organizations, can be better integrated.
This briefing was for members of Congress and congressional staff only. The report was publicly released on March 11, 2004 and can be found, in its entirety, on the Web site of the National Academies Press.
