Transitions to Alternative Vehicles and Fuels
Requested by Congress in P.L. 111-85, this new report from the National Academies provides a comprehensive analysis of energy use within the light-duty vehicle transportation sector, exploring technology and fuel options that could reduce petroleum consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.
These series of briefings were for members of Congress and congressional staff only. The report was publicly released on March 18, 2013 and can be found, in its entirety, on the Web site of the National Academies Press.
