Issues in Commuting and Pilot Fatigue: Interim Report
Requested by Congress in P.L. 111-216, this interim report examines the effects of commuting -- in which pilots travel to their flight assignment by air -- on pilots’ fatigue levels. The document identifies issues the study will need to consider and presents plans for collecting additional information for the final report.
This briefing was for members of Congress and congressional staff only. The report was publicly released on February 2, 2011 and can be found, in its entirety, on the Web site of the National Academies Press.
