Controlling Cost Growth of NASA Earth and Space Science Missions
For many years, NASA missions often have required more funding than initial cost estimates indicated. This new National Academies’ report reviews 10 prior studies of cost growth in NASA's earth and space science missions, evaluates the effectiveness of current and planned NASA mitigation strategies, and identifies new approaches to ensure frequent opportunities for NASA missions.
These series of briefings were for members of Congress and congressional staff only. The report was publicly released on July 13, 2010 and can be found, in its entirety, on the Website of the National Academies Press.
