Defense Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis:
Meeting the Challenge
In addition to planning for traditional warfare, the U.S. Department of Defense is also preparing for irregular conflicts, police actions, and missions to stabilize and reconstruct areas. This report, from the National Academies, recommends research and development activities that can aid these new missions.
This briefing was for members of Congress and congressional staff only. The report was publicly released on September 8, 2006 and can be found, in its entirety, on the Web site of the National Academies Press.
