Disaster Resilience:
A National Imperative

This new report, from the National Academies, identifies ways to increase national resilience to natural disasters and hazards at the federal, state, and local community levels. The report provides goals, baseline conditions, and metrics for resilience and outlines gaps that need to be addressed.

These series of briefings were for members of Congress and congressional staff only. The report was publicly released on August 1, 2012 and can be found, in its entirety, on the Web site of the National Academies Press.
