Early Childhood Assessment: Why, What, and How?
As requested by Congress in P.L. 109-149, this new report by the National Academies outlines important developmental outcomes for children from birth to age 5 and examines various ways to measure children's progress toward them.
These series of briefings were for members of Congress and congressional staff only. The report was publicly released on August 4, 2008 and can be found, in its entirety, on the Web site of the National Academies Press.
