Earth Observations from Space:
The First 50 Years of Scientific Achievements
This new report, from the National Academies, looks at the first 50 years of satellite observations and how they have played a role in monitoring the dynamics of the Earth system. This report is a companion piece to the recently released "Earth Science and Applications From Space: National Imperatives for the Next Decade and Beyond."
This briefing was for members of Congress and congressional staff only. The report was publicly released on November 9, 2007 and can be found, in its entirety, on the Web site of the National Academies Press.
