Prospective Evaluation of Applied Energy Research and Development at DoE

(Phase One): A First Look Forward

This new National Academies report explains how the U.S. Department of Energy can use a methodology outlined in a previous Research Council report -- Energy Research at DOE: Was it Worth It? -- to assess the potential benefits of its R&D programs in energy efficiency and fossil energy.

This briefing was for members of Congress and congressional staff only. The report was publicly released on April 18, 2005 and can be found, in its entirety, on the Web site of the National Academies Press.
