Federal Funding of Transportation Improvements in BRAC Cases
Requested by Congress in P.L. 111-117, this new report examines traffic congestion caused on metropolitan roads due to Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) implementation. It reviews Department of Defense criteria for funding public highway and transit improvements in BRAC cases and makes recommendations.
These series of briefings were for members of Congress and congressional staff only. The report was publicly released on February 4, 2011 and can be found, in its entirety, on the Web site of the National Academies Press.
