This new report from the Transportation Research Board of the National Academies develops criteria to define what constitutes a "nationally significant" transportation project, analyzes the rationale for public investment in these projects, and evaluates potential financing mechanisms.
These series of briefings were for members of Congress and congressional staff only. The report was publicly released on August 25, 2009 and can be found, in its entirety, on the Web site of the Transportation Research Board.
