Gender Differences at Critical Transitions in the Careers
of Science, Engineering and Mathematics Faculty
Requested by Congress in P.L. 107-368, this new report from the National Research Council examines the rates at which women and men are hired and promoted in science and engineering jobs at top research universities, and assesses the extent to which they have similar opportunities.
This series of briefings were for members of Congress and congressional staff only. The report was publicly released on June 2, 2009 and can be found, in its entirety, on the Web site of the National Academies Press.
