Healers Abroad:
Americans Responding to the Human Resource Crisis in HIV/AIDS

Healers Abroad, a new report from the Institute of Medicine, outlines how to mobilize a volunteer corps of health professionals who can train and work alongside their counterparts in developing countries to tackle HIV/AIDS and other diseases.

These series of briefings were for members of Congress and congressional staff only. The report was publicly released on April 19, 2005 and can be found, in its entirety, on the Web site of the National Academies Press.
