Building a Foundation for Better Understanding
Requested by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), this new Institute of Medicine report offers an assessment of the state of research on the health status of LGBT populations and identifies research gaps and opportunities. It recommends steps that will help the NIH ensure that it promotes effective and efficient research efforts in this area.
These series of briefings were for members of Congress and congressional staff only. The report was publicly released on March 31, 2011 and can be found, in its entirety, on the Web site of the National Academies Press.
